When is Disney going to be back to normal??

When is Disney going to be back to normal??  Defining what normal is important.  According to my clients, prospective clients and fans normal at Disney is the top things are:

1-Not needing to wear masks
2-Having character meet and greets
3-Fireworks and parades

This is what we currently know about Disney 2021.
NO DATES FOR:
-parades returning
-character meet and greets
-date for fastpasses
-listed to increase capacity un the parks
-return of special events or tours.  Big question about return of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas parties and Villains After Hours parties
-Character cavalcades are being updated

-MASKS ARE REQUIRED THROUGH 2021
-Park passes will be necessary until January 2023
-Some resorts do not even have open dates listed
-Not all restaurants are open or have dates listed for opening but we are slowly seeing more added
-Looking hopeful for monorail from Magic Kingdom to Epcot (and vice a versa)may be opening
-Limited social distancing interactions with characters continues and more characters are being added
-Crowd levels are starting to increase especially during holiday weekends and school breaks

Disney continues to put safety first.
Let’s reiterate on what you can expect:
-If coming from a Disney resort limited seating on buses, monorails and boats.
-When coming from Park parking lots they will have you parked every other spot, at least initially
-Next, you must have a temperature check (must be less than 100.4)
-Security is touchless at all the parks.  Make sure to take out metal like thermos, umbrellas and other objects
-Social distancing markers for 6 feet are seen throughout the parks
-Limited guests in restaurants, rides, and stores
-Plexiglass is all over!!  Rides, stores, restaurants to name a few.  More is being added weekly it seems.
-Hand Sanitizers at beginning of rides and end of rides, in stores, in restaurants-all around!!
-Portable sinks are also available throughout the parks

-EVERYONE WEARING MASKS
-Continuous cleaning of high touch areas, rides, etc.
-no mousekeeping unless requested but daily check ins
-sanitized remotes and more covered
-Mobile ordering using your My Disney Experience App for most locations-THIS IS HUGE
-You can now use your My Disney Experience to check to see if a Table Service Restaurant has availability same day easily-even for that minute.

Remember that for Disney safety is #1.

I also want you to go when you are comfortable and feel safe.  The COVID vaccine is getting completed in many states and is what you may feel more comfortable waiting for.  NOTE:  Even if you have had your COVID vaccination(s) you still are required to wear a mask. My belief is that you should plan for 2021 to be very much like 2020 at Disney.  Also, if you want to experience normal at Disney then I would recommend waiting until the second half of 2022 to see a real difference.

Here are a couple things to let you think about:
-If you or your children have never been before then you may not know what you are missing
-Children and adults do speak with their friends about their experiences and may expect the same.  This means if their friends went prior to COVID then they know all about the character meet and greets.  You don’t want to set up the trip for a failure if this is what the little ones (or big ones) are expecting.
-Crowds are definitely lower so if you go with the right expectations then you can benefit from the lower crowds.  This is even bigger during the holiday season.

Missing hugging Mickey or meeting Cruella but I miss the magic of Disney more if I didn’t go.
It’s important to have the right expectations and goals when you go. I know what to expect (or not expect) and I have a great time!  Sometimes it’s just about being in the magic and/or experiencing it with someone special. Disney is my happy place part of me that loves creating the Disney Magic for you. I can still close my eyes to see and feel the magic. Reach out to ME to learn the answers.
