ROPE DROP! Put it in your plans.
I highly suggest being at the park of your choice at rope drop. Actually I suggest being there 30 minutes PRIOR to opening.
I have been at many a parks when they have opened the gates early. If you are there early, you get a jump start on a whole bunch of people.
Think of the traffic flow in the parks as a bell curve, smallest crowds start the day then continue to grow then start going back down as the day ends.
You will be amazed at how much you can get done within that first hour without fastpasses and without the crowds.
