Refurbishment is not a word we want to hear when planning a visit to Disney. Sadly, they do and will happen so make sure to check the refurbishment calendar for Disney.
Often one of the water parks are closed in January and possibly into February for refurbishment. It is a norm for Splash Mountain to be closed in January right after the Marathon weekend.
It is important to note that not all attractions or shows have opened since COVID. Indiana Jones Stunt Show at Hollywood Studios recently reopened in late December. We still have not seen The Little Mermaid at Hollywood Studios reopen yet and are wondering if we will or if it is going to change.
Over at Magic Kingdom the Stitch Ride has yet to reopen. At Epcot not all of the entertainment has come back. Don’t forget we are still waiting for the Nemo Show to reopen at Animal Kingdom. We are getting a new show there called “Beyond the Big Blue”.
You may also have noticed that the live shows that have come back the cast members are staying 6 feet apart and those that would normally have larger casts they have been cut back to keep the distances. Many of us are waiting for the tumbling monkeys to come back to The Festival of the Lion King Show!
Make sure to enjoy the new fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom (Enchantment) and Epcot (Harmonious). We love our fireworks at Disney!! My favorites are for the special night events like Christmas or Halloween parties.
