Planning for Disney at Christmas is a must! What I mean is that if you are planning to be at Disney anytime near Christmas then you need to plan for it.
This was the closest I have ever been to being at Disney for Christmas. I was there from 12/12/21-12/19/21. Needless to say, the crowds grew each day we got closer to Christmas. What surprised me was the need/help to purchase and use the Genie+. You could say it was a Christmas present to myself as I purchased it and maximized it’s use. Here are some things I learned:
-Make sure to purchase at 7 AM the day you are entering the park and select your first ride/attraction at that time. If you are thinking or planning to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane then check and buy at this time. The only time I would recommend holding off on purchasing the Individual Lightning Lane pass is if the return just doesn’t work for you. If you are staying off-site then you need to wait until the posted opening time of the park to purchase your Individual Lightning Lane Pass.
-Keep refreshing! I can’t say this enough. New times and availability will pop up if you do this. We actually experienced return times going backwards instead of forwards at time. Their is not as much flexibility in the return times as the old Fastpass system so be cautious.
-If you get up early and are a Disney Resort guest make use of the 30 minute early opening for ANY park. By doing this you can eliminate the cost of one of the Individual Lightning Lane Pass by going there first. You can only buy 2 Individual Lightning Lane passes per day and can not duplicate them.
