Let's talk about California Adventure!!

California Adventure is also set up with different lands- Buena Vista Street, Hollywood Land, Avengers Campus, Carsland, Pixar Pier, Pacific Wharf, Paradise Gardens Park, and Grizzly Peak. Each has it's own unique feel to it.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a ride that was switched over from Hollywood Tower of Terror. It is not like Guardians at Epcot at all. That being said it is a great ride!! Make sure to try Webslingers as well as there is no ride like it at Disneyworld!

Incredicoaster is not for me, let's just put that out there. It is a complete thrill ride coaster and does not disappoint thrill seekers. I did it once and feel no need to do again. My fellow travelers enjoyed and went on more than once.

Radiator Springs Racers is the absolute best!! Went on this many times as we enjoyed it so much!! I highly recommend this ride to everyone. This is in Carsland which is the best theming land I have seen at Disney. You must see it at night for the best effects.

So many rides in this park are no where at Disneyworld. This is a great place to explore if you want new and different rides. Also, many rides for the kids to enjoy.

The highlight for the group was the night time show but I will get into that another time! It was worth the money for sure, IMO.

Make sure to allot for enough time in California Adventure to take in all the unique and interesting attractions. **Make sure to look for the moving Pixar lamp as well:)

Let's talk more about Disneyland.

Disneyland has only 2 parks-Disneyland Park and California Adventures. The interesting thing is that only a small plaza separates the 2 parks. This makes for a good reason to have a park hopper ticket (hint, hint)

Disneyland Park is the original creation by Walt himself. It really does make you feel what Walt wanted people to feel. Keep in mind that it is much smaller than Magic Kingdom or any other Disney parks on the east coast. It tends to give it a homey feel, if you will.

Disneyland does have the different lands similar to Magic Kingdom-Adventureland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Galaxy's Edge, Mickey's Toontown, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Main Street. Yet you will find many different rides from Magic Kingdom like Indiana Jones Adventure, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, Snow White's Enchanted Wish, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Alice in Wonderland, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Matterhorn bobsleds, Goofy's How to play yard, Chip 'n Dale's Gadgetcoaster and Finding Nemo Submarine.

Even the rides with same (or very similar names) are a bit different from the queue to the attraction itself. These include Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and it's a small world to name a few.

When going to Disneyland, especially for the first time I recommend being prepared for a smaller park and for trying the rides not available at Magic Kingdom. make it a whole new adventure!!

Another thing to know about Disneyland and Disneyw

Another thing to know about Disneyland and Disneyworld is that even though they may have the same attraction, chances are it will be very different.

Examples of this are Buzz Lightyear at Magic Kingdom and Astro Blasters at Disneyland. Both are shooting at the "Z" but the guns come up on a cord in CA as well as some of the targets light up for better points. Also, the queue is quite different than Buzz Lightyear in Magic Kingdom. Both games are very fun!!

Another that is quite different is Space Mountain. At Magic Kingdom we are used to the very dark ride with it's twists and turns where we sit behind each other in the rocket (3 people per rocket). While at Disneyland it is 2 people across with two rows. Also, it is lit up inside with white Christmas type lights. It is also not as jarring in Disneyland. Disneyland also has a single rider line here.

Both locations are very popular and it is important to use Genie+ or get there early.

Let's talk about Disneyland!

i was able to visit Disneyland this past month to check out the100th year celebration and so much more!! I really enjoyed my visit and was made more aware of the many differences between the two parks on each coast.

I was given very good advice when I traveled to a different Disney park other than my norm, Disney World, was to keep an open mind and enjoy the park in it's own rights. That is what I did and I will be talking about it this month.

Here is something to really think about. Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom is 189 feet tall. Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland is only 77! Yes, 77.

It still has incredible beauty and awe!!

Ticket choices for Disney can be challenging. Things you need to ask yourself (or travel agent):
1-How many days do I need in each park?
2-What parks should I go to?
3-Do I want to go to more than one park in a day (park hop)?
4-Do I want to go to a water park (think hot summer)?
5-Do I want to go to a park on arrival or departure day?

Did you know that price tickets vary based upon what time of the year you go to the parks? Also, it can vary by what day is your first day in the parks.

Alaska is beautiful and relatively warm in the sum

Alaska is beautiful and relatively warm in the summer months. TIP- Make sure to dress in layers as the temperatures can change a bit over the course of the day.

Also, I highly recommend doing just land or a land and sea version to see more of what Alaska has to offer. Another TIP-Bring and eye mask so you can block out the light. The sun sets around 1130 PM, yes you read that right PM. It never really gets dark so be prepared.

Another TIP- Be prepared for long distances between your sight seeing. Alaska I VERY BIG! It is also very beautiful!!

School is out for the summer!! Where are you looking to travel to? How about a trip to Washington DC?? Their is so much to see and do. You can even plan a day trip to the ocean.

Are you a fan of the skyliner at Disney? I am most certainly am!! I find it to be much more relaxing and less stressful for travel.

The only problem arises when their is bad weather and they have to close it down then you need to change to buses. This can not be fun when you had your touring plans all worked out to end there and then you have to go to the front of the park for transportation.

Also, it only goes to select resorts-Art of Animation, Pop Century, Riviera and Caribbean Beach Resorts. Caribbean Beach Resort is the hub. Again, it only goes to Hollywood Studios and Epcot Parks.
