One of the big questions currently for planning a trip to Disney is “Is Genie+ a must do?”, my answer is yes. No , I don’t want you to to have to pay more to be a Disney. I want you to enjoy yourself more at Disney. Genie+ and Individual Lightning lanes can do that for you.
Remember that this new Genie program is on the My Disney Experience App and is very helpful. Their are also 3 parts to the program.
1-Genie- This is a free service that helps you to plan your days in the parks (Morning of park day and throughout the day) with no cost to you. It will also show wait times, allow you to check dining and make mobile ordering to name a few. The itinerary they create will adjust over the course of the day due to crowd movement so you have to keep on top of it.
2-Genie+ -That is a paid service ($15/person/day plus tax) that is very similar to the retired Fastpass system. I would not plan on seeing Fastpasses for free coming back. Genie+ gives you access to most rides and attractions in the parks for lightning lanes to avoid waiting in line. Please note I said most. The top 2 rides will be in the Individual Lightning Lane that you pay for individually. You can choose your first Genie+ lightning lane ride at 7 AM day of going into the parks whether on site or off.
3-Individual Lightning Lanes- This is a paid service that varies by day, ride and park. You will know what the price is for the day you are in the park before you purchase. You can only purchase 2 per day NOT 2 per park (If you are hopping). Also, you cannot buy the same one twice.
