Continuing on our Disney planning theme, when is it busy/busier a the Disney Parks.
Disney Planning which days to spend in the parks is very important. It is important to know which days are busier than others. There are many reasons why the park can be busy; I will tell you how to avoid some of the busiest times at Disney so you can get the most out of your trip!
Special Events can also make a park busier. Just one example of this is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) at Magic Kingdom, which can make it slow during the day due to the park’s “early closing” at 7PM so the party can start. Guests who are there for the party get a special wrist band and cast members check for it once 7PM comes around. It is amazing how the cast members get the non-party guests out of parks without upsetting them! Another example is The Food and Wine Festival at Epcot; events like this make the weekends crazy busy because the locals enjoy the events as well. It is important to know when the special events are going on to determine which park to visit on which day. Besides, these special events are great to go to and can really add to your trip.
Weekends and summer time are always busier as well because that is when residents prefer to visit the parks. This also means that the afternoons and evenings are generally busier, as locals may come out after work to enjoy rides or attractions at the parks. Local traffic isn’t the only reason weekends and summers are busier in the Disney Parks; many people do not want to take their kids out of school to go on a vacation so they go in the summer as well. Many people use summer as a travel time for the family, so if you’re looking to avoid a crowd this time of year may not be ideal for you to plan a trip.
THE IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PLAN IS HOW BUSY IT WILL BE WHILE YOU ARE THERE!!
In my opinion, there are no quiet times at Disney, there are only less busy times. Here is a list of less busy times:
-January AFTER the Disney Marathon Weekend until about mid February (winter breaks for many schools).
-Late February to about mid March, again due to school breaks going on.
-Late April to early May; however if Easter is in March then traffic is different.
-Late May, June , July and most of August is BUSY.
-Late August is good as the locals are back in school.
-September is good as is early October (Halloween decorations up in the parks).
-Early November until before Thanksgiving Week (Thanksgiving Week is BUSY).
-The week right after Thanksgiving until the week before Christmas is a great time to go (see all the resort and parks Christmas decorations).
-CHRISTMAS WEEK IS THE BUSIEST WEEK AT DISNEY!!!
