Disney Park Pass Reservations are here to stay. They are showing being used through January of 2023, at least. My advice-MAKE AS SOON AS YOU HAVE YOUR PARK TICKETS!!
1-Check the park pass availability calendar
2-Book resort and/or tickets
3-Link resort and tickets to your My Disney Experience Account
4-Make Disney park pass reservations as soon as you have tickets
You may be able to change the parks you are in if their is availability. This is less likely during the busy part of the year. You may also be able to park hop (after 2 PM) if you have the park hopper option on your ticket.
