Christmas at Disney 2020 is going to be vastly different than what we have seen in the past. Let’s start with what won’t be there then about what will.
For Christmas at Disney 2020 we will not see the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties at Magic Kingdom. Sadly, no Candlelight Processionals at Epcot and other story telling gatherings. I am guessing that you will not have the Hollywood Studios Christmas Jammin’ show either. The biggest loss is the gingerbread houses at the resorts, especially at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Other resorts have other amazing gingerbread displays, but not this year.
What you will see is character cavalcades in all the parks, including the jolly old man himself. Magic Kingdom is going to have a special projection on the castle to bring out the holiday spirit. As of 11/6/2020 you can have magical dining experience at Hollywood & Vine with Minnie and her friends-social distanced, of course. I highly recommend heading to Disney Springs to check out the Christmas trees. The trail will be much more spread out this year to keep people at a safer distance but still able to enjoy the lovely decorated trees. If you want something different then find where it is “snowing” there. Also, over at Jock Lindsey the holiday bar will be set up.
At Epcot starting 11/27/2020 their will be a highlighted version of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. JOYFUL music will also be returning this year to Epcot. The Voices of Liberty will be singing holiday classics as well. Many of the Disney Christmas 2020 events will be going from November 6 to December 30. I know we are all anxious to see how they will be ringing in the New Year.
Keep in mind that the crowds will be much lower this Christmas. Yes, anticipate wearing a mask while you are there and social distancing. This can all be to your benefit if you want to see Disney decorations at Christmas. Please reach out to me to talk about planning your Christmas at Disney 2020!
