My first day back to Magic Kingdom was, well, MAGIC!! I want to say that the Disney Magic is there!!
Yes, their are may changes-face masks, temperature checks, social distancing, park passes, no fastpasses, no fireworks, no character meet and greets, mostly no crowds. Disney is limiting the number of guests in the parks which makes for minimum line waits. The longest wait I saw all day was 40 minutes for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Most of the rides and attractions were walk on. I actually, saw stand by lines I had not seen in forever because I use Fastpasses. Great new and exciting experiences! The craziest one was riding Space Mountain with the lights on (technical glitch). It was VERY scary.
We entered the park through temperature screening tents (handled by an outside company) then through the new touch free security and finally in through passes. Our group had it’s own monorail car. This is very different from the past where they tried to see how many people they could board. I have to say that this feels very weird. Don’t worry at Magic Kingdom is full of photopass photographers to capture your magic moments to remember being back at Magic Kingdom.
We went on many rides and checked out attractions as well as shopped. You never knew when a cavalcade was going to show up and brighten your day. The first we saw had dancing cast members with Mickey and crew behind them. My friend scream for joy as Donald blew her a kiss. Her comment was ” I could go home now I am so happy!”. After Tiana and one of the other Princesses waved to him and blew kisses he screamed for joy. The magic is still here and still can be enjoyed.
Ride lines were virtually non-existent. That part was great! It is new and different to see all the 6 foot lines and lots of Plexiglas at food orders, pick ups, and cash registers. Be warned, it makes it harder for you to hear the cast members and for them to her you. This is even more as you have a mask on, they have a mask and plexi-shield on. Be prepared to repeat yourself.
I want to say I feel safe in the parks between masks, social distancing and cleaning by Disney. Guests are very good about wearing the masks and pretty good about social distancing. Check out more of my pictures on Facebook. Also, if you have any questions then please reach out to ME!! Disney is opening and delivering the magic! Enjoy the small crowds and short lines. As the cast members have been saying “welcome home”!!
