Animal Kingdom, my first day back was amazing!!
Animal Kingdom with the cast member preview is what this day is all about! I see short lines, caring cast members, safety measures set up by Disney but mostly I see Disney magic. Don’t fear that the magic will be gone with the new mandates like wearing masks all the time (think Florida heat and humidity), social distancing and no Fastpasses to be had. Experience the magic of Disney even with these restrictions and new guidelines. Disney does so much to make the magic still happen for it’s guests.
Character meet and greets are now random cavalcades at Animal Kingdom where they pass by waving to us from their boats. Seeing short lines due to guest number restrictions thus making fastpasses unnecessary. Let us walk on to rides that usually have long waits which is a pleasant surprise for all the guests. Cast members welcome us back to the parks and make me feel like coming home. I am welcomed to the parks with thank you’s, welcome back and welcome home being said, Disney magic.
Riding the Kilimanjaro Safari to see the King of the jungle perched on pride rock is something to behold! I watch him survey his lands with a cautious eye that everything is right. He has his lioness’ nearby to assist him. This is just one of the may sites I was fortunate enough to see. What animal do you want to see most? I look to the sturdy rhinoceros and elephants but can’t forget the mighty giraffes and zebras. The hippopotamus rest in the hot sun of the day in the cool river waters, for instance. Above all, try to get a better view of them on the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail .
The route I take today is Dinosaur, Expedition Everest, and Kali River Rapids. I addition we went on the Kilimanjaro Safari (yes, we ride twice) then off to Pandora to ride the Na’vi River and of course, Flight of Passage. I get shopping in and then it’s time to go and get out of the Florida heat. Yes, a magical day at Animal Kingdom.
